The same introduction to track cycling as the Velodrome Taster where you'll learn basic track skills but with the addition of a flying lap. Compare yourself to the professionals with this timed flying lap to end the session.

Essential Information

• Bike and helmet hire is included with this session. 
• Track mitts/cycling gloves must be worn and can be hired from us.
• We would recommend wearing cycling shoes; if you have your own, Look-Keo cleats are compatible with bikes provided, if you don’t own your own, Look Keo Cleated cycling shoes can be hired from us. Normal trainers can also be worn for our experience sessions if preferred.
• Shoulders must be covered.
• If you weigh more than 109kg (17st 2lb), unfortunately you wouldn't be able to hire one of our bikes, however you would be able to ride the track on your own track specific bike.
• If you're under 130cm (4ft 5ins) tall and want to hire a bike from us please contact us before making a booking so that we can discuss your requirements. 
• You must arrive and report to Lee Valley VeloPark reception at least 30 minutes before your session is due to start. Late arrivals will not be able to ride and will not receive a refund.

One action packed day experiencing the two London 2012 tracks at Lee Valley VeloPark. You'll get the chance to take part in a Track Taster session to learn the key techniques of riding our 250m velodrome track before taking on the BMX track and all its different features. At the end of the session you can relax in our cafe and take home a memento of the day.

Velodrome tasters are a fun, one-off experience where you can ride the Olympic velodrome track. These one hour sessions are an exciting introduction to track cycling where you'll be coached in the use of a fixed wheel bike and the basic skills required to safely ride the banked track.

Hit the berms in this experience session on the BMX track. Put your skills to the test as you get to grips with this fun sport. 

If you're a competent rider who's comfortable on a BMX bike, this session is for you*. We offer two options for our BMX Taster sessions 7 - 12 years and 12+ years, just book onto the one for you. 

*Please note, participants must be able to ride confidently whilst standing to take part in these sessions. If rider is unable to do this, we recommend attending our CoreStart - Learn to Ride BMX first to develop the skills required.
